Webb27 mars 2024 · The South China Sea (SCS) is the largest tropical marginal sea and has one of the lowest average surface salinity levels (~ 33 psu) (Yang et al. 2024 ; Zeng et al. 2014 ). It is located in the Indo-Pacific Ocean, identified by Durack et al. ( 2012) as one of the areas that experienced the most significant freshening during the 1950–2000 period.
