Use of calculus and vector algebra will be emphasized. Intended for students with an interest in pursuing a major in physics, astrophysics, engineering physics, or related disciplines. WebDescription. This course contains Einstein's theory of gravitation, the mathematics necessary for its understanding and some of its applications within physics and astronomy. Among the topics treated are special relativity, tensors in Minkowski and in curved space-times, Einstein's field equations, black holes, gravitational waves and cosmology.
