A basic example would be something like the JL audio W6 vs the W7. The W6 is usually considered a SQ subwoofer whereas the W7 is more considered an SPL subwoofer. Which is why you should never just buy a speaker based on specs, and always listen to them in person. The construction of the cabinets may also contribute to the cost difference. WebYou can get a 6x9 to 6.5" adapter pretty cheap (maybe $20 for the pair), or if you're handy it's also very easy to make your own custom plate. I'd recommend grabbing a set of foam rings, maybe $15, to put around the front of the speaker. Helps mid bass a ton. If you can do a component system, do it. Sounds WAY better.
