WebAs of October 18, all candidates (except for a few in a transition group) seeking a class 1 license will need to complete BC’s MELT framework. This framework is a minimum of 140 hours, including a minimum of 50 hours of behind the wheel, on-road instruction. Driving schools will begin to offer MELT training in the coming weeks.
